The theme is relaxed indulgencePainted Boat is being built on the site of the former Lowe's Resort, a family-run business that catered its down-home style to seasonal fishing tourists, and is marketed to families who enjoy the Sunshine Coast and who appreciate the resort's amenities.Building on that history, the Painted Boat will, "reflect the past by maintaining the environment as it always has been, by keeping with the beautifully treed site and the connection to the waterfront" says George Hare, president of Recreational and Residential Project Marketing Inc. The new project will be built on a four and-a-half acre forested lot and every home will have its own waterfront. Thirty-one villas are available for quarter ownership. "This is an opportunity for buyers who realize the benefit of investing in a waterfront property for a fraction of the cost," says Mr. Hare. While the Painted Boat will continue to appeal to family vacationers, says Mr. Hare, it has five-star amenities and luxurious furnishings to add an element of relaxed indulgence. Each suite is designed to take advantage of the waterfront exposure and the large measure of privacy available on such a large building site. Indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to flow together, with large balconies and oversized glass doors that open up entire walls to views of Pender Harbour. The kitchens will have stainless steel appliances and granite countertops while the bathrooms will have large soaker tubs and slate flooring. One benefit of quarter ownership is that each home comes fully furnished, complete with plush towels and high thread-count bed sheets. The Globe & Mail
